Official Review – RAW Shred Case

We here at Stoner Things have done RAW Product Reviews before, so we’re not beginners to the brand. RAW is Raw Shred Caseone of the biggest names in rolling papers and related accessories so the expectations are high for their product, the RAW Shred Case.

Looks and Design

Shred cases are mostly a RAW invention; it’s a rolling paper case with the top doubling as an herb grinder. The case is a slim rectangle just big enough to hold a set of RAW Rolling Papers. We looked at the 1 1/4 size, which has the shredding in the shape of the RAW lettering. The standard size case is slightly bigger and the whole top side is shredded.

Functionality

The top of the case is shredded like a cheese grater’s would be. One presses their herbs against the shredding and manually grinds it with their fingers. If you place a rolling paper inside to catch the herbs as they fall you’ll find your medicinal marijuana cigarette is partly wrapped for you. When we tested it we found that it took a very long time to grind everything needed for one MMJ joint and it pinched the fingers a bit too much.

The Kit

The RAW Shred Case 1 1/4 is available for $11.25 and comes with one pack of RAW Rolling Papers in the matching size.

The Verdict

Overall, we weren’t too impressed. The idea of a rolling papers case doubling as a grinder is a novel one and very intriguing, but the execution was lacking for the 1 1/4 model. Until RAW releases one that finds a way to reduce the shred time and save your fingers, we aren’t impressed. Other than being less bulky to carry than a traditional grinder, the RAW Shred Case offers nothing to be desired. Get one if you prefer discretion over effectiveness.
