Official Review – Pulsar 7 Pocket Vaporizer

We here at Stoner Things love vaporizers, but we know that they aren’t exactly the easiest things to smoke with; most aren’t portable and the others are a hassle to haul around. But Pulsar 7 is working to make a vaporizer that solves those problems. Their goal? To provide a portable, affordable solution to those who love the health benefits of vaporizing vs. smoking.

Looks and Design

The Pulsar 7 Pocket Vaporizer is designed for portability. At just over 5 inches (13cm) long, this vape is small but efficient. It won’t draw much attention because the design is conducive to discreet carrying; it looks similar to many types of cosmetics containers, like mascara, or even an e-cigarette. Talk about user-friendly! There’s even an LED display underneath the cap to make things simpler. The battery is long-lived and is rechargeable with the included charger (USB with an AC adapter option).  In terms of design, the one detraction we found was durability; the on/off button is prone to jamming/breaking, so some care should be taken when traveling.

Functionality

This unit features a ceramic heating element paired with Pulsar 7’s “one button” activation system. Using it is straightforward: let the unit heat up for 30-45 seconds, then hold down the button and after 10-15 more seconds you’re ready to start vaporizing. Unfortunately, there was some functionality sacrificed for the smaller, more portable design. The Pocket Vaporizer is only for dry herbs, and it is hard to get a satisfying hit from the unit. Vapor intake is relatively small, and may require multiple hits to get satisfactory results. The upside here though is that there is very little smell and the unit can be easily and discretely carried just about anywhere.

The Kit

At $89.99. the Pocket Vaporizer comes in a standard package, which includes the unit itself, a 3-piece cleaning kit, storage case, two rubber mouthpieces, and a USB charger with AC adapter. It also comes  witha six month limited warranty covering mechanical failures and DOA issues.

The Verdict

Due to the jamming issues, unsatisfying hits and necessity for dry herbs only we don’t recommend it as a main unit. However, if you need a backup vaporizer for travel and/or discreet usage, this is the product for you. Overall, Pulsar 7’s Pocket Vaporizer is a good buy for the price.
